Olwen is a Speech and Language Therapist with over 30 years’ experience in the field in UK, Africa, Australia and Europe.

Olwen holds a strong, child-centred philosophy of child development and is therefore intensely interested in and focused on the education of those who care for, work with and love children.  Olwen is particularly motivated by the power of play – for play’s sake and, of course, for its profound impact on the development of children – and the acquisition and development of language and communication.  Without well-developed speech, language and communication skills, children’s ability to learn and access the curriculum is compromised.

Olwen speaks a message of the power of parents, educators and carers talking the talk with children.  She encourages those who are with children to talk the walk, i.e. to talk about what you are seeing and doing as you go through the walk of daily life with a child.  You will therefore often see on our Insta and Facebook page references to ‘Talk the Talk’ and ‘Talk the Walk’.

Olwen’s plan is to make the quality of children’s Playing Talking and Learning experiences so important to parents, carers, educators, professionals, that children’s lives are transformed by the practices of adults surrounding them.
