Assessment and Therapy

• Assessment and Therapy sessions are arranged for mutually convenient days, times and locations.
• Payment for assessment and therapy sessions is strictly on the day of the session.
• Charges for assessment and therapy will be reviewed on an annual basis.

Assessment is charged at £140 per hour/pro-rata.

Prior to the initial assessment, I ask parents to complete a referral and consent form.

Referral information includes relevant case history and current concerns regarding your child’s speech, language and communication development and skills.  The consent form seeks consent to assess, provide intervention and liaise with other agencies and professionals, as appropriate and agreed.  Attendance at assessment and therapy sessions indicates consent to assessment and therapy.

The assessment takes place in different settings including homes, nurseries, schools, online, in settings most appropriate for the assessment of children’s speech, language and communication skills.

The time required for assessment depends on your child’s difficulties and the aims of the assessment.  On the basis of the initial discussion, I will be able to provide an indication of the time required for a complete assessment of your child’s speech, language and communication skills.  Discussion regarding the outcomes of assessment, in person, by phone or online is considered to be an integral part of the assessment process and is therefore included in charges for assessment.

Therapy is charged at £50 per half-hour session.

The discharge will be based on your child’s needs and progress, and on discussion and agreement with parents.

Cancellation of Sessions

I operate a 24-hour notice cancellation policy.  24-hour notice is required if your child is not able to attend a session or will not be present at nursery or school on the day of a scheduled session.  Sessions that are not attended without cancellation will be charged at the full rate. When I am not able to provide a service, I will endeavour to give at least 24-hours notice and options for a mutually convenient replacement session.

Assessment Reports

Summary Reports are charged at £100

Diagnostic/EHCP Reports are charged at £350
